Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a large UK organisation with their search for a Procurement Category Manager. The Procurement Category Manager will manage their own portfolio of Indirect categories and support the Department Head in the delivery of key strategic objectives with a core focus upon facilitating the organisation's ESG and Net Zero targets.
The Client will support a mix of 2 days' office working, 3 days' working from home.
The Opportunity
Key activities for this challenging role will include managing Indirect categories:
- Developing and implementing category strategy with a core focus upon ESG targets and category/supplier-innovation
- Management of contracts and supplier performance against KPIs
- Supplier relationship development and management
- Cost reduction and continuous improvement
- Supplier quality control audits
- Market/spend/pricing analysis by category
- Sourcing new supplier partners as required/supplier rationalisation
- Stakeholder query management/transition to new processes and systems
About You
The successful Procurement Category Manager will possess:
- Experienced in procurement and contract management with a proven track record of having designed and implemented Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives
- Category management experience of IT, Utilities, Marketing and/or Travel beneficial
- Strong commercial and customer service skills
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities
- Good prioritisation, project management and organisational abilities
- A pro-active, dynamic and self-sufficient nature
- A good eye for detail and well developed analytical skills
