Client: Centurion UK

Position: Procurement, Contracts and Sourcing Lead

Location: Aberdeen

Reports to: Regional Supply Chain Director

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

Business Line: Accommodation and Modular


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending.
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing strategies.
  • Analyse and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure.
  • Optimise sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency.
  • Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes.
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.
  • Perform risk, cost, scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Estimate risks and apply risk minimising techniques.
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services.
  • Examine and test existing contracts.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers.
  • Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.


KNOWLEDGE:


  • In-depth knowledge and best practice of procurement, sourcing and contracting activities.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:


  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Assertiveness
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in full suite of Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to review and continuously improve processes and practices
  • Diligent with strong attention to detail
  • Commercial awareness to support the business in making key decisions and understanding the implications of this.
  • Ability to adapt and flex between transactional activities to strategic projects and continuous improvement activities.
  • Effective organisation and time management skills, particularly when dealing with conflicting priorities.


QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant university degree, MCIPS or equivalent in a technical qualification.


EXPERIENCE:


  • Solid experience in a procurement/sourcing role and dealing with contract negotiations.
  • Experience of preparing useful metrics and data
