Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager with Highways to join our team. As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing of goods and services for our organization. Your role will involve managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management and possess excellent negotiation skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and improve efficiency
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate order placement
- Utilize Oracle EBS or similar systems to track orders, manage supplier information, and generate reports
- Stay informed about changes in regulations or policies that may impact procurement activities
- Train and mentor procurement staff to enhance their skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and supplier management
- Proficiency in using Oracle EBS or other procurement software systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data analysis and reporting
