About the role
The Society is following an ambitious roadmap towards its goal of becoming the best mortgage and savings provider in the UK. As part of our growth, we’re looking for a Procurement Manager on a 12-month, full time contract, to support our Business Services Team.
The team is responsible for procurement and sourcing across the organisation, driving value through best-in-class strategic purchasing and category planning.
Its leader must develop and implement a strategy that demonstrates how pivotal procurement is to the effective management of our resources.
This involves working closely with senior stakeholders, ensuring that products and services are sourced competitively, cost effectively and in line with relevant policy requirements.

About you
You’ll have extensive experience of procurement processes (including RFI, RFP, contract drafting, negotiation and supplier management) and know how to manage major suppliers.
Familiar with sourcing a wide range of products and services, your ability to negotiate complex contracts will be highly valued. Bringing a can-do approach, you’ll be able to evidence how you’ve mentored a team and fostered relationships with both internal stakeholders – some at senior level – and external suppliers, ideally in a Financial Services environment.
An excellent all-round communicator and presenter, you will be a confident, collaborative agent of change. And as a key member of our procurement function, you’ll have a vital role to play in identifying, reporting and mitigating third party risk
