Southdown is a successful and award winning not-for-profit supported housing and care provider, operating across Sussex. We work hard to recruit and retain skilled, imaginative and caring individuals who hold the same values as Southdown and who are committed to making a difference to the lives of vulnerable people in Sussex.
We have annual turnover of over £30m, support nearly 11,000 clients across Sussex each year and employ circa 850 colleagues. We spend around £5m on non-pay spend in addition to £800k capital expenditure (excluding new property purchases) each year, which will all be in scope / procurement spend influenced by this role.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated procurement specialist for this new role who can make a real difference to the way we procure goods and services used in our business.
The Procurement Manager will review and improve our processes. Lead on all procurement tenders, owning and embedding good procurement practice across the business to deliver value for money.
This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement specialist with experience of leading procurement activities in a similar sized business. You will require excellent negotiation and contract management skills and also be well organised and able to work on your own initiative to develop your own procurement workplan of contract renewals.
Southdown offers a competitive salary, generous car allowance, pension, employee assistance (EAP) and healthcare package plus a range of other benefits, including qualification to apply for a Blue Light Card and the Cycle to Work Scheme.
This role requires you to be a driver with access to a car for work.
Southdown is a psychologically informed organisation where the well-being and happiness of our employees matter. We’re committed to creating a positive and compassionate work environment where employees feel valued, respected and inspired to do their best. In addition, we’re a family-friendly employer that recognises the importance of a work-life balance. If you share our values and want to work for an organisation that helps change lives for the better, we want to hear from you.
We are a Disability Confident Employer and are fully committed to supporting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and welcome applications from all candidates that meet our job specifications. If you feel there is a barrier that potentially prevents you from applying, do get in contact with us at jobs@southdown.org as we are always happy to discuss (or arrange a discussion with the recruiting manager) to explore if any reasonable adjustments can be made to support your application.
