Job Title: Procurement Officer - Local Authority (Bromsgrove)
Contract Type: Hybrid 6-Month Contract
Location: Bromsgrove, West Midlands
Pay Rate : £24/hr
Role Overview: As a Procurement Officer, your primary responsibility will be to support the Fleet Manager in procuring a variety of services contracts related to the hiring, servicing, maintenance, and purchase of fleet vehicles across our Environmental Services department. These procurements will predominantly be conducted through framework providers, although there may be occasions where bespoke tenders are required. Your expertise in frameworks and fleet-related procurements will be essential in ensuring the success of these processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Fleet Manager to procure services contracts for fleet vehicles within Environmental Services.
- Utilise existing frameworks and explore opportunities for bespoke tenders where necessary.
- Liaise with operational managers and senior managers to ensure compliance with procurement regulations and organisational standards.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify suitable suppliers and negotiate favourable terms and conditions.
- Manage procurement documentation, including tender documents, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the contract period.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in procurement, particularly within the context of frameworks and fleet-related services contracts.
- Strong understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Analytical mindset with the capability to conduct thorough market research and data analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field would be advantageous
