As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join our team and play a vital role in sourcing and managing our inventory to support our sales activities across multiple channels.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services for our warehouse operations.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable deals and achieve cost savings while maintaining product quality and service levels.
- Order Placement: Place purchase orders for inventory replenishment, taking into account demand forecasts, inventory levels, and lead times to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Inventory Optimization: Work closely with the warehouse team to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce excess inventory through effective demand planning and procurement strategies.
- Quality Control: Monitor and evaluate the quality of incoming goods and materials, collaborating with suppliers to address any issues or concerns and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and cost-benefit evaluations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement in procurement activities.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to identify new sourcing opportunities and potential cost savings initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, warehouse operations, and finance to align procurement activities with business objectives and support overall organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a retail or e-commerce environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with procurement software or ERP systems.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
