The Procurement & Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of fulfilling customer orders from Production Planning, Scheduling and Purchasing through to ensuring timely delivery of products while optimising inventory levels and operational efficiency.
This role requires a strong understanding of Supply Chain management, Purchasing, Demand Forecasting, Material Planning, Master Data, System Management, however with on the job training available, this could be an ideal role for someone with a strong background in Demand/Production Planning with knowledge of Purchasing who wants to further their career with a market leading business.
You will be leading both the Planning & Procurement teams, however previous management experience is not a prerequisite, however personality is key! Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, this is an ideal opportunity to take the next step on the career ladder, in a challenging yet supportive environment.
The Role:
- Lead and manage the Planning and Purchasing teams.
- Motivating and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity.
- Leading and maintaining the current S&OP & S&OE process. Developing the Procedures and efficiency.
- Preparing demand and supply scenarios, analysing the risks associated, and proposing mitigation plans.
- Develop and execute Purchasing & Planning strategies that align with business goals.
- Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, Production, Quality Compliance, NPD and Logistics teams to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Manage and analyse demand forecasts to optimise inventory levels and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
- Implement and improve processes for order, material management and production scheduling.
- Analyse demand patterns, market trends, and customer behaviour to refine demand forecasts, improve accuracy and identify cost reductions.
- Leading operational buyers to make sure purchase orders issued to suppliers are fulfilled on-time.
The Ideal Person Will:
- Have previous experience in supply chain management, demand forecasting, planning and/or purchasing.
- Experience working with ERP systems and demand planning software
- Strong SAP knowledge especially on material master, MRP and purchase functions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage supply chain challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities at pace.
- Leadership skills to guide and motivate teams.
- Previous experience in managing teams or cross-functional projects is a benefit but not essential.
