Overview: |
Primary role function is the provision of support to Procurement capability. Working as a member of the line of business Procurement and Supply Chain team to provide Procurement or Supply Chain expertise, services, support to meet the operational needs of line management and the business. The role involves working within a clearly defined framework, and requires knowledge and understanding of Procurement or Supply Chain principles, techniques and practices. |
Key Deliverables: |
- Working within Procurement team to ensure the timely procurement of goods and services for the line of business, providing support to campaigns and throughout the life of programmes.
- Application of knowledge of professional procurement principles and practices, technologies and the supply base to source goods and services, either for routine purchases or for lower value/risk non-standard items or services.
- Demonstrate basic business acumen when negotiating with suppliers and understanding of the impact and implications of decisions made to business stakeholders and suppliers.
- Working with Procurement and Supply Chain representatives, cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that quality, cost and delivery considerations are factored into procurement decisions.
- Proactively manage instances of supplier under-performance.
- Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement.

- Impact on the line of business' IBP. Provision of a Procurement and Supply Chain service to meet business or customer milestones. Working within budgets and supporting opportunities to deliver savings.
- Support achievement of the optimum performance of campaigns and programmes in terms of cost, quality & schedule adherence.
- Direct impact on immediate team and effectiveness of this team. Impact on customer / supplier relationships and colleagues in other disciplines.
- Impact on adherence to internal governance, responsible trading and legal compliance (including export control). EN9100 compliance.

Key Skills / Experience: |
- Likely to have a minimum of 2 years' experience of working in a Procurement / Supply Chain and Defence environment; and / or
- Be educated to degree or equivalent standard
- Possess a good standard of competence in key areas of Sourcing process knowledge, Contracting Skills
- Financial Awareness, and Supplier Management
