Specific Responsibilities
- To support the Senior Procurement Lead with developing and implementing a category strategy and a supplier / subcontractor management programme in order to monitor ongoing performance against agreed service levels.
- To source, tender, procure and negotiate with supply chain including the analysis and commercial appraisal for outsourcing. To take the lead role in fully engaging with suppliers and managing and building mutually beneficial working relationships with key suppliers, ensuring that all stages of the supply chain process are monitored, controlled, analysed, and evaluated.
- Producing and analysing tender documentation relating to contracts for the supply of goods and services. Additionally, reviewing all tender and contract conditions ensuring the Company's interests are fully protected.
- Reviewing and inputting information to the procurement database to ensure easy retrieval of information, preparation of management reports and establishing an interface with the main data processing system, where achievable.
- Developing and reviewing procurement procedures which complement and support the Company's operational, commercial, and financial procedures.
- Managing the effective deployment of Procurement processes
- Understand and implement "supplier management" ethos/culture/processes.
- Anticipate and offer solutions to minimise costs and create opportunities.
This list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be asked to carry out other duties through discussions with their line manager. The post holder will not be expected to carry out tasks that are beyond their level of skill and ability.
