What will I be doing?

Our 9-week Summer Placement places you right at the heart of life as a procurement professional in a global organisation. You will work for one of our iconic brands like British Gas, the UK's leading energy supplier, or Centrica Energy, our multi-billion pound trading arm - either way, this is an opportunity to ignite your future.

Our Procurement team are responsible for purchasing all the goods and services our business needs to succeed. You could be involved in anything from buying solar panels from China, purchasing equipment for our engineers and their vans or assisting with contract negotiations for a new technology platform.

No procurement experience? No problem. We've got plenty to go around and can't wait to share it with you. You will be provided with an unparalleled level of support with access to buddies and experienced line managers, as well as having a ready-made network of graduates across the business to tap into. In addition, you'll develop and practice your skills in a safe learning environment, including Presenting with Impact to understand how to capture your audience with confidence. You'll also get the opportunity to participate in a Charity Challenge, a great way to understand how we make a big difference at Centrica through charity partnerships and volunteering initiatives.

This is an opportunity to gain real experience working within real projects, giving you the chance to develop critical skills that will set you up for a successful future, such as:

• Project management

• Basic negotiation

• Problem solving and finding solutions

• Contract knowledge

• How to set up the best commercial deals with suppliers

• Strong communication

• Great teamwork

We have a few must-haves:

• On track for a minimum 2:1 degree (2:2 if combined with a Masters)

• Able to be in the office a minimum of 2 days a week

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

• Have the right to work in the UK

• Available to start the programme and be fully available from 18th June - Friday 16th August 2024 (2 days holiday entitlement)

• Ready to start your graduate career October 2025

Here's what's in it for you:

You'll be paid a salary of £21,000 (pro rata) and accommodation will be provided for the duration of your placement, if required.

You'll spend the first week of your placement in our Windsor office to complete your induction and return for the last week of your placement to share the skills and great work you will have achieved while on your placement.
