Product Assembler / Van Driver (Long Distance)

Stopem Limited is seeking a Product Assembler /Van Driver to join our team. This position will be responsible for driving a company vehicle from our factory (based in Rugeley) to customer locations nationwide, so must be comfortable with long distance driving. The successful applicant must maintain a safe, courteous, and professional behaviour at all times. This position will also be responsible for loading and unloading the vehicle, transporting goods, and other duties associated with the role. This will include the assembly of all stock products no experience required as training will be given. The successful applicant will enjoy the dual role of being part of a friendly shop floor assembly team whilst enjoying the additional role of driver and representing the company.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who is willing to work hard and flexible hours Monday - Friday. Contracted start time will be 7am till finish.
Responsibilities
This role will involve loading the vehicle each morning from our factory (WS15 1RE) before setting off on a pre-planned route delivering orders to our customers.
It will be your responsibility to ensure goods are correctly loaded and safely secured with the use of ratchet straps.
When working alongside the assembly team you will be responsible for ensuring products are assembled and stored correctly and flow is maintained.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and preferably clean driving record
- Must have experience using ratchet straps
- Must be fit and able as this position requires heavy lifting
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings, some early mornings
- 1-2 years of driving experience in a professional driving environment preferred
- Must be 25+ Due to insurance purposes
Benefits:
Drivers are paid hourly based on the number of hours worked in a day.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40.5 per week
