Product Design AndDevelopment Engineer Degree Apprenticeship Within Finance
Apprenticeship Programme
You will be working towards a level 6 Product Design and Development Engineer Degree, whilst developing your skills and knowledge with on-the-job training and experiences. You will have the opportunity to spend 20% of your week learning with an external training provider working towards an externally recognised qualification. The following 80% of your time will be based at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe, you’ll work alongside industry-leading experts gaining practical knowledge of what you are studying, take part in corporate social responsibility initiatives and grow your networks, equipping you with personal and professional training And Development to accelerate your career.

Finance Controlling
Our Material Cost Controlling team is part of the Finance Controlling Department and is at the forefront of delivering vehicle projects from a Finance perspective. The team is responsible for the financial management and control of the material cost of all Bentley designed parts in line with the Technical Targets and customer expectations. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support Material Cost Controllers with analysing material and investment impact for studies relating to alternative design solutions, manufacturing methods and alternative materials forums to drive project decision making on product line forums
- Engage cross functionally to support the negotiation process, ensuring that all business objectives are met in terms of cost, quality, capacity and VW group requirements
- Contribute to the transparent reporting of material cost targets, current status and Risks and opportunities for all new product across multiple product lines
- Collaborate with the cross functional team, embedded in the product lines, to actively engage in the delivery of all new products
About you
It would be advantageous to have demonstrable experience of team working skills, acquired through part time work or extracurricular activities. In addition to an interest in managing projects and a continuous improvement mind-set. The successful candidate will:
