Production Design Engineer

At Saint Gobain PAM we are hiring for a Production Design Engineer to join our production facility in Telford. In the role, you will be assisting in new product research, design and develop New product developments (NPD) from concept designs to product launch. Also assisting in preassembled stack approval drawings for customer approvals.

The successful Product Design Engineer will form a team of 3 Product Design Engineers in our Telford facility reporting into the Product Development and Innovation Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit team where there is a great deal of enhancement and sharing of knowledge in an engineering environment.

What you will be doing:

The role will require customer interaction either to support sales/Technical, research new sectors or out on site trials with the customers
Working closely with the marketing, sales, internal and external customers to deliver the design and development requirements for the business.
Work closely with plants and methoding and pattern shop functions to minimize or design out scrap, weight and quality issues in products in the industrialization process
Design and deliver the pre-assembled stack approval drawings in Inventor to distribute to customer for approval prior to production.
Create innovative concept designs in Auto-desk Inventor and make them a reality to exceed customer or market expectations.
Project manage specific design or development activities via the Stage & Gate process.
This role will be required to support a wide variety of skills from 3D CAD, to project management, to industrialization, to customer meetings.

What are we looking for?

Product designing - good portfolio of experience in Product Design , Good invertor experience and 3D Cad modelling,
Can assembled and draft drawings in the 3D CAD software to deliver standard details or technical product drawings for approval.
Experience working in a Fast-Moving production engineering environment
Ambitious, outgoing with good personality, team focus and good desire to learn and develop
Can demonstrate an interest in emerging technology and is "Tech Savvy"
The ability to take Product Designing to the next level
CAM and CNC knowledge would be advantageous
