Job description

A Product Development Engineer is needed to use their technical skills and expertise to improve existing product lines and develop new ones. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute significantly to the engineering and manufacturing department of a well-established industrial manufacturing company.

Description

  • Designing, testing and improving product lines.
  • Regular review of product legislation and compliance including certification of products/processes
  • Working with the manufacturing team to ensure efficient production processes.
  • Support production of detailed product specifications and technical drawings.
  • Assisting in the implementation of new manufacturing processes.
  • Ensuring products comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Providing technical support to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Full feedback of the trial results are required to the Production and Quality Assurance Departments, with relevant reports or data.
  • Working on projects from initial concept through to final production.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of material technology and manufacturing techniques.

Profile

A successful Product Engineer should have:

  • Have a 3rd level qualification in a technical subject e.g engineering / mechanical be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of knowledge and experience in a technical area.
  • Experience in product design and manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CAD software.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties.
