Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee A member of the Claims Change team, which works to deliver customer-focused change within our Claims organisation. Responsible for working with Claims business areas, IT and other stakeholders, including other Product Owners to define stories to meet users' needs whilst adding value to the Claims product. By guiding the team towards the product vision & strategy, the product owner ensures that the product backlog is prioritized so that the team can deliver the most important features in the most efficient way.
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to work with claims and technology experts to define and deliver the Change and Innovation portfolio for QBE’s Claims team.
You will scrutinise and prioritise the change initiatives for Claims and work with an agile scrum team to deliver real value-adding change for the organisation.

Your new role
- Work with Claims stakeholders and subject matter experts to refine and build out requirements, assessing the value of each initiative to ensure we are making best use of investment.
- Assist in the preparation and running of the monthly Claims Design Authority.
- Preparation of programme increment (PI) planning by updating the product backlog, review and contribute to the programme vision, roadmap and content presentations.
- Providing clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story development, estimates and sequencing and working together with the agile Scrum team to determine their team objectives for the upcoming PI, enabling the team to maximise the delivery of business value.
- Act as the voice of the customer, advocating for Claims across QBE and liaising between Claims, Transformation and Technology, and the wider QBE business.
- Know what system product features to build based on a clear understanding of customer needs and the related business value, translating this into clear delivery plans and ensuring a continuous flow of work for the developers.
- Work with the team and stakeholders to agree accepted story completion. This includes validating that the story meets acceptance criteria, that it has the appropriate acceptance tests, and that it complies with its Definition of Done.
- Understand the scope of upcoming enabler work and collaborate with Solution and Enterprise Architect(s) to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures that will support the new business functionality.
- Make necessary trade-off decisions.
- Track business benefits through from business case to ongoing BAU
- Deputise for the Claims Change and Innovation Manager where required.
About you
Required Experience
- Experience of working with cross-functional and multi-site teams in a hybrid working environment is extremely desirable.
- Knowledge of insurance and claims is an advantage.
