Exciting Opportunity for a Product Salesand Business Development Manager
We are currently recruiting a Product Salesand Business Development Manager to join our busy Howden Compressors Sales and Proposals Team based in Renfrew, Glasgow. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects within the Energy and Industrial markets for Howden’s Screw Compressor Technology with a focus on the energy transition and emerging processes such as Renewable Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) and Energy Recovery. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to take on a commercial sales role at the front end of the business that if successful, opens many doors to future career possibilities.
You will be responsible for leading the bid process and presenting Commercial and Technical Proposals for the Howden Screw Compressor Package product and will be working closely with the Technical Sales Engineers within the department as well as the other disciplines of Engineering, Quality, Project Management, Procurement and Operations.
This is a permanent position working Monday to Thursday 8am until 4.15pm & Friday 8am until 2pm. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

Our Ideal Candidate:
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours
  • 5 year’s relevant industry experience
  • International Sales experience, desirable but not essential
  • Team ethos, highly collaborative approach
  • High degree of commercial shrewdness and understanding
  • Ability to pro-actively solve problems and to think laterally, whilst maintaining project deadlines and commitments
  • A keen eye for detail and rigorous in your approach to accurately defining scopes of supply and costs
  • Excellent, presentation, communication, negotiating, influencing and inter-personal skills. Able to work as an individual and as part of a team leading the overall proposal process while managing a diverse range of disciplines and people
  • Good command of English language both written and oral.
  • You should bring energy, innovation, attitude to succeed and the desire to work as part of a strong team and take ownership of your responsibilities within the department
