Salary - £40,000 - £45,000

Due to expansion and the creation of a new department MacArthur Recruitment are seeking somebody with Manufacturing Planning and Scheduling experience along with goodmechanical engineering knowledge and practice from within a Manufacturing Environment.

The role is with a leading UK based engineering company in West Cumbria.

Overview of the role of Production and Manufacturing Planner Scheduler : 

You will pro-actively manage the scheduling and resourcing of project plans for the manufacturing facility and associated management teams utilising Primavera P6. 

Engineering manufacturing understanding and practical knowledge (ideally).

Logically and systematically plan operations to meet the overall project schedule, through the development and definition of project activities and ensure production throughput is maintained. 

Main Purpose of the position of Production and Manufacturing Planner Scheduler : 
To work closely with production / manufacturing to ensure availability and timely delivery of resources and projects.

Person Specification for the role of Production and Manufacturing Planner Scheduler :

• Engineering Degree or equivalent practical mechanical engineering experience.
• Operations background with demonstrable experience in work scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to carry out on the ground visits to evaluate customer requirements.
• Understanding of Planning structures and principles (WBS, PBS - Product Breakdown Structure).
• Advanced IT skills - proficient in Primavera P6.
• Experience in a Mechanical Engineering role or a similar technical role.

Principal Accountabilities for the role of Production and Manufacturing Planner Scheduler :

• Working and talking to the production team constantly.
• Translation of project needs into detailed manufacturing scheduling.
• Ensure workload does not exceed available capacity.
• Responsible for providing a schedule in line with the project schedule, key milestone dates and look-ahead aspirations.
• Provide key support and guidance to the project and production managers through regular engagement and a regular visible presence on the floor, as the project moves through all phases including engineering, supply chain, manufacture, assembly and testing/commissioning.
• Be informed and able to validate, advise & challenge progress & completion forecasts, identifying schedule risk and required enablers.
• Monitoring manufacturing performance and throughput and reporting to various internal stakeholders.
