A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a hands-on electronics biased Production Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer of electro-mechanical devices during a period of growth. This business has recently moved into a building and have steadily grown over the last 15 years. The successful Production Engineer will be joining a small team who support production through the testing and process improvement of their electro-mechanical devices. This role would suit an electronics graduate with several years of experience who enjoys being hands on but would like to develop their Production Engineering and process improvement skills.
The role:
On a day-to-day basis, the Production Engineer to be responsible for ensuring the overall equipment effectiveness, through effective preventative maintenance and corrective actions to reduce equipment downtime. The Production Support Engineer will also provide engineering support to production and operations, ensuring that products and components are rigorously tested and ensure continuous improvement in implemented into production.
About you:
The successful Production Engineer will need to be of electronics bias, ideally with an electronics qualification, BTEC, HNC/HND or degree. You will also have a combination of the following:
- Detailed knowledge of repair fault finding and minor design.
- Previously worked in a high-precision electronics manufacturing environment supporting and repairing equipment and systems.
- Computer literate; with experience of using Microsoft windows software to complete work done reports and monitor equipment usage (i.e. word, excel etc).
- Familiar with making improvements to equipment / systems and services to improve utilisation and operational/production productivity and throughput.
- Familiar of the creation and implementation of lean working processes.
- Able to demonstrate a structured approach to problem-solving, root-cause analysis.
- Ability to construct an FMEA would be highly desirable
- Exposure to ERP systems.
- Able to track and monitor equipment utilisation and reliability to identify preventative maintenance measures to improve reliability and up-time.
- Understand measuring equipment operation and ensuring optimal overall equipment effectiveness
Our client is offering an excellent salary of up to £35,000pa plus a yearly bonus, pension, flexible working, and an early finish Friday. This electronics biased Production Engineer role would really suit someone who wants to develop and grow over the coming years.
