The Role
Job Title: Production Operative
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Salary: £24,735.11 increasing to £28,064.40 once trained
Shifts: 42-hours per week, working 2 days & 2 nights, 4 on 4 off
Overview of role
We have a number of exciting opportunities for Bakery Operative's to join our team. We don't need you to be an expert in food manufacturing; we can teach you that bit. What we do need is your passion & enthusiasm to positively contribute to the team environment, whilst seeking to develop your knowledge & skills.
You’ll be working as part of a team whose aim is to achieve targeted performance, customer satisfaction & quality standards. Safety is first at Allied Bakeries, so we're looking for people to lead by example whilst thinking & behaving safely to ensure Health & Safety remains our number one priority.
Our production is 24/7, so you'll need to be flexible to work a two day, two-night shift pattern. Shifts are 12 hours in length, working 4 on 4 off.
Bakery Operatives start on a salary of £23,783.76 increasing to £28,064.40 once fully trained & competent. You can then progress to a Manufacturing Technician earning £31,624.32, as and when opportunities become available. - To deliver product quality to required standards
- To contribute to the delivery of a production plan
- Participate in the proactive environment of learning (1:1’s)
- Actively participate & contribute to the sharing of “Best Practice” within manufacturing
- Flexible to support other areas of the business as required
The Right Person
Essential
- Good level of health & food safety awareness
- Good numerical, reading & information recording skills
- Ability to work to targets, maintaining quality & a safe approach
- Desire to develop & progress own skills & experience
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced & complex environment
Advantageous
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment is desirable
- An in-depth understanding & application of food hygiene/GMP/ (ABSS standards)
- Understanding of baking process
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (CIEH Level 2) IOSH or equivalent
