Salary:
Base rates from ?12.81 per hour to ?13.94 per hour (including shift allowance)

Shifts / Hours: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-06:00 3 shift rotating weekly.

Job Description:

Quest Employment is recruiting for Production Operative roles on a temporary ongoing basis based in Orton Southgate, Peterborough. To be considered for the Production Operative role all candidates must be flexible within reason, reliable, and available for an immediate start where required. Candidates must have a basic to good level of English speaking, reading, and writing.

As a Production Operative, you must be flexible in your assignment as roles may vary from time to time which would include mixing products, packing, dispatch, boxing, and palletising. A certain level of dexterity is required and will be assessed where needed.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of sweet and cereal-based products with a broad range of technological capabilities, primarily serving the end markets of bakery, cereal, confectionery, dairy and ice cream.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client who is a growing company with many opportunities in a purpose-built site based in Orton Southgate, Peterborough. Shifts available 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-06:00 3 shift rotating weekly or 06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00 2 days / 2 night weekly. The site operates 24/7 so work may include occasional weekend work.

Salary Breakdown:

• Base rate £11.44 per hour (Probationary period 12 weeks)
• Shift allowance for 3 shift rotating £1.37 = £12.81 per hour
• Tx½ over 40 hours £17.16 per hour
• Shift allowance only paid on base hours only 

Post Probation Period:

• Base rate £12.45 per hour
• Shift allowance for 3 shift rotating £1.49 = £13.94 per hour
• Tx½ over 40 hours £18.68 per hour
• Shift allowance only paid on base hours only

Day to day of the role:

• Preparing and mixing of product following SOP’s
• Lifting product ingredients ready for mixing in the region of 25kg
• Packing from 5kg-20kg containers, ensuring labels are applied correctly
• Follow CCP checks
• Use internal software SAP
• General upkeep of your area including cleaning product lines between changes
• Be actively aware and understand the Health and Safety
• Be actively aware and understand food safety relevant to the role
• Working towards daily productivity targets
• Reporting feedback on production issues
• Meeting all KPI’s in place
• Material checks following company SOP’s

Expected working environment:

• Will be hot during the summer months
• Expect machine noise & vibrations (PPE provided)
• Potentially dusty environment
• Safety boots are required to be worn
• All other PPE required will be provided as required

Required skills:

• Standing or walking for long periods (8-12 hour shifts)
• Lifting, bending, reaching above the head, crouching and/or stretching
• Pushing and pulling up to 25kg in weight / Lifting and moving products up to 25kg
• Manual dexterity in both hands and wrists
• Computer literacy - able to work scanners and complete simple tasks on a PC
• Time management
• Experience working in a production environment preferred but not essential
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually where required
• Accuracy and attention to detail to include numeracy
