As a member of our Manufacturing team, you will establish manufacturing practices to ensure high quality, consistent production of components and assemblies to meet the needs of the Company and ultimately that of the Client(s).
Specific responsibilities in relation to Assembly:
- Responsible for Assembly, Testing, and any associated repairs
- Responsible for Aligning, and fitting component parts into completed units
- Responsible for Soldering and affixing electrical and electronic components in specified locations on assembly
- Responsible for Examining parts for surface defects and rectifying were applicable or directed
- Carry out Tests for functional performance of completed electromechanical assemblies, using test equipment where applicable
- Fabricate parts, using shop equipment where directed.
- Carry out Repairs, reworks, and calibrate assemblies to meet operational tolerances
- Responsible for Mechanical and electrical assembly and sub-assemblies including printed circuit boards
- Carry out Final visual inspection of completed assemblies and sub-assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
- Connect cables and wiring etc according to specifications.
- Drill, tap, ream, and countersink, using drill presses and portable power drills.
- Attach name plates and mark identifying information on parts.
- Clean and lubricate parts and subassemblies
- Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping.
In relation to Tools & Instruments:
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and test equipment where directed
- Operate or tend automated cutting / assembling equipment, such as fixed automation equipment
Specific responsibilities in relation to Patterns / Templates & Drawings:
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical orders to determine methods and sequence of assembly operations.
- Utilisation of correctly specified materials in accordance with Company policy
- Verifies dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance
- Respond to engineering changes, and implement rectifications and modifications accordingly
Specific responsibilities in relation to Health & Safety / Quality / In-house Procedures and Policies:
- Must be able to follow procedures and meet production, quality and safety standards and targets.
- Ensure that you are an authorised users of any equipment in use have the required competence level and highlight training requirements you may need
- To ensure the cleanliness of the workshop within your delegated area and report any problems to your Supervisor.
- Ensure you are fully converse with the Health & Safety requirements of the company and adhere to the systems in place
- Ensure all personnel working for you are aware of the Company Health & Safety Policy, and work within the regulations.
