Production Operator

We currently require a new Production Operator to join our Norbev team to work on shift proactively performing technical and operational duties to ensure customer orders are fulfilled while also ensuring the highest standard of food safety and quality.

The hours of work for this role include 12 hour, dayshifts and nightshifts. The pattern alternates every 3 weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery to the highest standards so as to maximise production on the lines and achieve targets
• Guarantee the utmost quality of all production as well as the completion of related checks and paperwork
• Accurate and timely set up of machinery during changeovers
• Maintain food factory standards e.g. housekeeping and line clearance of area, through to deep cleaning machines
• Basic maintenance, fault finding and repairs of machinery and equipment
• Become an in-house expert on a particular machine and attain working knowledge of all machines in production
• Improve line efficiencies, make suggestions and play active role in company e.g. H & S, continuous improvements
• Effective handover to the next shift ensuring good communication of performance
• Completion of production related documents and provision of feedback on any issues
• Efficient preparation for the day / shift /change over ahead
• Flexibility to rotate between jobs and shifts should the need arise
• Any other duties and tasks deemed to be within competence and within reason
• Ensuring good manufacturing practice (GMP) in all aspects of work
• Ability to identify and report any non-conformances to Quality Dept / Line Manager
• Working to standard operating procedures
• Carrying out all tasks in a safe and efficient manner
• Adherence to PPE requirements
• Safe use of chemicals

Essential Criteria:

• At least 2 years machine experience
• Good communication skills
• Good numeracy and literacy skills – due to the need for completion of food safety compliance paperwork, good written/spoken/reading English skills are essential
• Good organisational skills
