This is a day shift role on an alternating weekly cycle, with every second Friday off!
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing/Production Teams transform raw materials into finished goods and ensure component flow. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures. We are looking for Kitting Operators and Harness builders to join our existing team.
Hours:
Week 1 Mon to Thur 7.30am to 4.30pm; Fri 7.30am to 4pm
Week 2 Mon to Thur 7.30am to 4.30pm; Fri Off
Key Tasks
Kitting Operators
This role will involve kitting components from basic information or documentation, as well as some basic harnessing assembly work.
- Create a kitting list
- Manage inventory using mainframe and Harnmos systems
- Inspection of kit
- Operation of TMS marking system and cutting machine
- Ribbon cable and blue dot operations
- Basic harnessing assembly tasks, including measuring and cutting cable to length and printing and preparing identification labels
Harness Builders
- Build wiring harnesses from basic information or supplied drawings.
- Follow process control documents and codes of practice.
- Visually and electrically inspect and test wiring harnesses at all stages of manufacture.
- Use manufacturing drawings and quality standards.
- Build prototype harnesses as required.
Experience Required
- Experience in the field of wire harness building.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures, techniques and test methods required in the manufacture of military standard wiring harnesses.
- A good knowledge of TE Connectivity products, their performance, features, benefits and limitations.
- Previous experience of cable preparation, wiring stripping and laying.
- Experience of wire termination to solder and crimp contacts, screen and wire termination using SolderSleeve™ devices and connector assembly.
- Experience of final harness assembly braid, tubing and moulded parts adaptors.
