With our world-class research centres and more than £500m investment into a new Bay Campus infrastructure, the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Swansea University stands out as one of the best centres of excellence in the country. Our outstanding research and teaching environment supports nationally and internationally important areas of research and teaching across a broad range of Physical Sciences and Engineering. The faculty plays a strong role in delivering the universities international strategy and is actively strengthening its transnational education offerings.
The Vice-Dean China is a leadership position in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the successful candidate will be tasked with developing and managing all the academic aspects of a successful Joint Education Institute (JEI) in partnership with Nanjing Technical University. Nanjing Technical University is a leading engineering university that is located on a beautiful campus in the historically important city of Nanjing in the Jiangsu Province in China. This is a unique opportunity for an innovative leader and accomplished educator to join a leading UK research led university and faculty and lead an exciting new international partnership.
The successful applicant will spend approximately 26 weeks per year working on our partners campus at Nanjing Technical University in China and should have considerable experience in developing strong relationships based on values of trust and respect. The successful applicant will be a highly effective communicator while proficiency in Mandarin will be an advantage.
