Programme Centre of Excellence Specialist 

Progressive organisation seeks a dynamic Project Specialist to join their team as a Programme Centre of Excellence Specialist.

In this role, you will contribute to the success of multiple projects by ensuring a consistent and common approach. You will work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, building relationships and championing best practice.

The position would be ideally suited to a project professional with strong stakeholder management skills who is motivated to facilitate efficient and effective project delivery. It is offered on a 12-monthfixed-term contract and on a hybrid working basis with two days a week in the office in Birmingham. 

What’s involved: 

  • Review business cases and advise on the risks associated to decision makers 
  • Ensure a consistent and common approach to projects and programmes 
  • Advocate and facilitate the use of a newly implemented assurance framework 
  • Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with key stakeholders 
  • Lead efforts in identifying and documenting program stakeholders, their interests, and potential impacts, maintaining stakeholder profiles 
  • Provide expert advice to the Programme Assurance and Appraisal team 
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communication 
  • Ensure stakeholders are informed about timelines, messages, and submissions 
  • Collaborate with different departments to develop and maintain project portfolio pipelines, synchronizing with activity registers and forward plans. 
  • Oversee the maintenance of activity registers 
  • Develop robust internal reporting processes

About you: 

  • Experience in a Centre of Excellence/PMO/Project Management role 
  • Familiarity with process documents, flow diagrams and document management 
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies 
  • IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Visio 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships
