WHAT TO EXPECT 

 

As Programme Technology Centre Leader (TCL) for Body Chassis Engineering, you’ll be responsible for supporting all Body Chassis Squad members within a Domain Group, to deliver their programme content, meeting all defined technical and attribute targets.

 

Within the On-Cycle Programme Group team, and as Body Chassis lead, you will be involved with the integration of all Technology Centre content and related responsibilities on the programme, acting as the conduit between the On-Cycle Programme Domain and the On-Cycle Architecture/Unit and Off-Cycle Tech Centre Domains defining the How and Who of the Engineering Delivery
 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensuring Body Chassis Squad members have the technical skills and capabilities to perform their role of content delivery, in conjunction with the Domain TCL.
  • Driving integration of Body Chassis content with application of Tech Centre Body of Knowledge and expertise.
  • Developing the Squad structure; defining the correct resource, skills and toolset knowledge, in conjunction with the Programme Group Lead (PGL) and Technical Group Lead (TGL)
  • Threat spotting to identify risks to Engineering delivery, ensuring robust Engineering is delivered in partnership with the PGL & TGL. This includes new and added starter content
  • Supporting technical issue resolution within the Group, in partnership with the TGL, leading ‘blue on blue’ cross-Group/cross-Product Group and Chapter issue resolution.
  • Embedding technical requirements and lessons learned on Tech Centre delivery from previous programmes, into the Group’s content; and equally ensuring Chapter Engineering Approval of Programme content.
  • Support launch activities and EBC support of Launch Squads into VB and production facility activity, providing technical input as required into the Production Groups/Squads for rapid issue containment and resolution
  • Support and input into QBR process and BRP activity to ensure Squads priorities and backlog cover the required Engineering output
  • Provide Chapter expertise to PGL / TGL s especially around BoK development within the Programme environment
  • Transverse Team activity ownership
  • Reporting on engineering progress to the Programme TCL on milestone preparation, bringing the middle term / long term vision to the TCLs and Domain TCL
  • Interfacing, when necessary, with Design team for the priority management of the SMR during the design convergence phase
  • Interfacing with Chapters and Technical Specialist when required to facilitate issue resolution and Chapter strategy integration into programme content

 

WHAT YOU NEED

 

  • Experience of delivering projects in an automotive or manufacturing environment – Special Vehicle Projects would be an advantage
  • Good level of technical knowledge and a broad understanding of body and chassis interfaces into other vehicle functions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear manner – accessible by all levels and cultures
  • Good operating knowledge of Agile Organisation and structure, with a developing understanding of Agile in Launch
  • High level of leadership. Ability to organise, motivate, and drive your team and skillset to influence others across other functions
  • Strong project management capabilities with excellent implementation skills
  • High self-drive, a motivated and confident person. able to operate and deliver with minimal supervision
