This role has a starting salary of £29,556.26 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week (term time, 39 weeks per year). 

We are excited to be hiring a new Programme Manager to join our fantastic Access to Education Service based in Woking. This role is open to remote working meaning you are not required in the office for 5 full days a week, therefore we'd welcome a conversation on what remote working may look like for you.

About the Team

The Surrey County Council Access to Education Service provides individual and small group teaching to pupils who are out of full time education. We provide education for pupils aged 5-16, many of whom have medical, complex SEN needs and/or challenging behaviour. The team is made up of an Area Lead, teachers and education support staff and the Programme Manager provide front facing, direct support to the team and the families.

About the Role

The Programme Manager is the 'air traffic control centre' of a wide and flexible service, monitoring support plans, overseeing staff timetables and managing requests for support. Day to day duties include liaising with schools around pupil reintegration; reviewing referrals and agreeing programmes of studies for students; holding oversight for attendance and safeguarding.

If you have experience of working with vulnerable children / young people and their families, have an administrative and logical approach, as well as excellent IT skills (preferably with knowledge of data management), then we would love to hear from you. 

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Confidence in managing data and using Office software including data management systems
  • Ability to maintain a professional and approachable manner when dealing with parents, young people and other professionals
  • Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with colleagues, and build strong effective relationships with all partners and the wider community
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of school systems and SEND

Successful candidates will be expected to travel extensively around the SW Surrey area - Guildford and Waverley districts. You must have a full driving licence and the use of a vehicle.
