Job description

This is an exciting role if you have event and visitor experiences and are looking to develop your career with a high-profile charitable organisation. You’ll deliver a dynamic programme of changing activities and events for visitors, collaborating with colleagues, and develop creative interpretation. In this varied role, you’ll improve the visitor experience and help to tell the story to Anglesey Abbey.

Reporting to the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager, you'll be part of the close knit visitor experience team.

The team is looking for an enthusiastic and creative person to develop new ideas and work collaboratively with all departments, engage with volunteers, and helping people connect with our conservation work.

You'll be responsible for working with property teams to deliver the visitor experiences, approaching plans collaboratively and be on the lookout for new opportunities to grow visitor numbers and raise the profile of Anglesey Abbey within Cambridge.

You’ll support innovative approaches to programming, helping to plan and deliver events, activities, creative interpretation, and marketing materials.

You will bring a fresh approach and push the boundaries of events at Anglesey Abbey. You’ll be hands on with the installation, operation, and evaluation of events and activities, often heading out into the estate to set up come rain, shine, or snow.

You'll work with National Trust visitor experience teams to create world-class visits, working with community partners to deliver events which engage visitors and volunteers, ensuring their needs are met. You'll evaluate the impact of partnerships and programming on audiences and partners and share this learning to inform plans.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience with managing events, activities, and visitor programmes, bringing creativity and a big picture approach.
  • Can demonstrate working collaboratively and dynamically.
  • Have confidence in building positive relationships quickly and feel comfortable talking to lots of people from different backgrounds.
  • Can lead volunteers to deliver programming for audiences.
  • Have experience designing and crafting interpretive materials for print and digital formats, using InDesign, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Are well organised and able to manage multiple pieces of work to meet deadlines.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of information shared.
