Job description

We are currently seeking a Project Business Development Manager to join a family-run SME based in Hull. Your role will be to develop new business within a geographical region by identifying and qualifying new customers and projects. This involves conducting thorough research and engaging in conversations with prospective customers and deal influencers, primarily over the phone to build rapport and work deals through to the point of order/handover.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

 New Business Development/Client Relationships

  • Carry out relevant required research on potential customers and deals.
  • To utilise phone outreach and other marketing methods to increase market awareness of the organization among potential customers within the geographical area.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients through regular communication.
  • Follow up on all live deals to take the deals through the pipeline to handover in a timely manner maximise the conversion rate
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Technical Sales Manager, to build value with the client and ensuring a seamless handover of deals once the client is ready to place an order, facilitating a smooth transition and deal closure.
  • Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely way to enhance the customer experience and followed up effectively (live jobs).
  • Continuously seek to learn and further enhance technical understanding and knowledge of the product, solution and industry, through ongoing learning and development.

Management & Reporting

  •  The positions reports to the Sales Director and is required to attend the daily Sales Catch Up meetings.
  •  Prepare regular reports on sales activities, progress, and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Proven sales track record
  • Experience in customer support is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Proficiency in English
  • Market knowledge
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport
  • Time management and planning skills
