Bouygues Energies & Services has a fantastic opportunity available for a Project Buyer to be based from our Bristol office in Bradley Stoke, working on the Sizewell C (SZC) project.

Our team have been carrying out amazing work on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) emergency diesel generators (EDG) project. As a result of this project’s success, we are now looking to grow our team and recruit a Project Buyer focusing on SZC, a HPC replication project.

Job Purpose:

To support all upstream commercial aspects of supply chain contracting for all direct goods on the SZC Emergency Diesel Generator project including RFP preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, subcontract placement and consolidation of supply chain feedback to assist with clientengagement.

The Role:

  • Support completion of an overall Procurement Strategy/Plan for Sizewell C project.
  • Work within the existing Procurement Procedures to Sizewell C and suggest improvements.
  • Produce bespoke contract/commercial solutions for each subcontract required for Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.
  • Engage with new potential suppliers.
  • Support production of Procurement Schedules that align with client timescales.
  • Engage with the finance department to agree on pricing schedules, payment plans, currency allocation, insurance, bonds etc.
  • Assess suitability of existing suppliers and frameworks for future procurement.
  • Review technical specifications for procurement suitability.
  • Support with creating a final list of sub-contractors for tender activity.
  • Prepare RFI and ITT documentation for each SZC work package using existing templates and suggesting improvements.
  • Assist with the assessment of supplier proposals from a commercial, legal and price perspective.
  • Manage tender queries process.
  • Serve as liaison between suppliers and project team.
  • Negotiate with subcontractors for best value.
  • Manage the contract award to successful sub-contractors.
  • Assist with the delivery of all SZC logistics requirements.
  • Handle non-legal/technical disputes that do not require legal support.
  • Help to ensure that all requirements of the client contract are filtered down through the supply chain.
  • Ensure a well-documented procurement process.
  • Support the Procurement Manager and Quality Manager with any external or internal audits of the procurement function.
  • Assist with the Subcontract Review Record process.
  • Assist with management of procurement KPIs and suggest improvements.
  • Assist with internal reporting, reporting/deliverables sent to the client, quality management system registers etc.

The person will ideally have:

  • Previous procurement experience
  • Planning/project management experience
  • Commercial/contract expertise
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
