Job description

We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity as a Project Comercial Director for a renowned engineering company, recognised for its commitment to quality and innovation. As a representative of my client, we are searching for a commercially astute individual who has experience of managing project value in excess of £400m. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Project Commercial Director is accountable for the Quality, Cost and Delivery of all elements of the project.

Key Responsibilities: The postholder will be accountable for all aspects of the project, leading the Team to ensure that the work progresses within safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.

Develop all project scopes and deliverable definition in compliance with the governing contract documents, quality requirements for the project and any additional customer requirements.

Responsible for all contract management including scope & change control, requirements management, subcontractor and supplier management and governance for any flow-down requirements from the parent contract to sub-contractors and vendors.

Accountable for all aspects of nuclear and industrial safety including adherence with corporate and customer safety programs, development and enforcement of necessary training and requirements, adherence to corrective action programs and enforcement of performance standards for all of the above

Ensure that all project activities are performed in accordance with corporate standards of ethical compliance, cyber-security, import-export regulations, intellectual property protections and security clearance protocols.

Ensure that project procurement and subcontract management including subcontractor and supplier oversight, invoicing, accruals and supply chain strategies are aligned with risk management, quality requirements, schedule and budget considerations and overall performance standards commensurate with the project and customer requirements.

Working with the third part Project Controls Team, apply project controls methodology with respect to planning and scheduling, baseline management, cost control, budgeting, cash flow, invoicing, cost and revenue forecasting and resource management.

Develop and implement detailed project execution plans and monitor their execution through comprehensive reporting to key internal and external stakeholders.

Experience and Skills:

The successful candidate must have a successful commercial bias to their career history, be a natural leader who can inspire a team to perform and work together towards a common goal, have previous experience working in an Integrated Project Delivery model and have an understanding of large EPC work including subcontracts and prime contract management.

Thorough understanding of NEC3 contract management is essential and an understanding of nuclear supply chain and materials management principles would be an immediate advantage.

Understanding of project delivery methodology including; earned value, critical path scheduling, prime contract and subcontract management, procurement and supply chain methodology and construction work packaging and associated inspection and test plans.
