We are now looking for aProject Controller to become part of our Automation Navigation Control Systems (ANCS) business unit, which has just secured a new multi-year Naval contract to supply our systems to their fleet of vessels.
As a Project Controller you will be overseeing all projects across the Navy segment of the company and be committed to follow up on the financial part of the project while being an advisor for the project manager. You will have close cooperation with
other departments such as sales, R&D, product management, and service to align expectations on the financial aspect of the project. To succeed in this role, you will be acting as a mentor for your team as well as working independently and as a part of a team, showing good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and organizational skills.
This position is located in Hørsholm, Denmark.
Our Automation Navigation Control System (ANCS) Business unit is within one of Wartsila's Portfolio businesses. Our portfolio businesses are those where Wartsila is open to offers to purchase the business unit and contracts for onward sale.
What are my key responsibilities?
- Leading, managing, and developing the project financials
- Forecasting, Budgeting, and Reporting
- Coordinating cross-project activities on SAP-related topics, e.g. percentage of completion setup and maintenance, intercompany business, and maintenance of WBS structure
- Monthly closing of project accounts, where relevant
- Cost/profitability analysis.
- Contribute to sales change and tender work and actively search for opportunities to improve project financial results
- Planning and leading the execution of assigned projects budget through all phases of the project lifecycle from start-up to project closure
- Keeping confidentiality especially related to Navy contracts
What will I need to do to be successful?
- Hold a MSc or BSc in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or other relevant topics
- Previous experience in project controlling is a plus
- You can develop high-quality working relationships internally and externally
- You have strong digital knowledge and enjoy applying technical solutions in your work
- Solid business understanding and commercial orientation
- Very good ERP system knowledge (SAP)
- Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
- Interest in the technical part of the projects (navigation/automation)
- Fluent in English (communicate effectively in writing and verbally)
What interactions will I be having with my stakeholders?
- Act as the point of contact for the project team project finance-related topics
- Project improvement and Risk Management together with the project program manager
- Internal financial reporting to Project Management Team and Finance
Note: this position is working on Navy projects/programs and a NATO clearance is a condition for employment.
