About the role:
Location: Boyndie, Banff, Aberdeenshire
Hours: Permanent - 40 hours per week
Due to continued growth within our Engineering Division, we are hiring for a new Project Engineer to come and join the team. This role will be based from our home in Boyndie, Aberdeenshire, but can also work hybrid when required.
The Project Engineer plays a key role in the business and is responsible for the planning, organisation, and delivery of projects from initial enquiry through to final Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). We pride ourselves on high standards of work, how we collaborate as a team and the service to our clients, and the Project Engineer will be a key player in ensuring all aspects of the projects they are responsible run as smoothly and positively as possible.
Responsibilities:
Adopting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
Be principal point of contact with clients.
Manage a range of Rentals and Engineering projects.
Review all technical project documentation at contract award and highlight changes and/or discrepancies between pre-award and contract documentation and potential deficiencies in tender method statements.
Interact directly with the clients to ensure their requirements are clearly understood. Internally distribute this information ensuring all Motive staff clearly understand what is required.
Ensure project scope accurately reflects the client’s requirements from a technical and commercial perspective.
Ensure all processes flow correctly through to final detail of completed documentation.
Ensure delivery schedule information is current and available.
Co-ordinate and undertake the generation of procurement, fabrication works and installation documentation (scopes of work, procedures, drawings, lift plans, sketches, etc).
Issue drawings to suppliers for tendering and prepare bid comparisons.
Ensure technical accuracy of internal and third-party procurement, fabrication and installation documentation including compliance with contract requirements.
Be accountable for highlighting scope variations during execution of the activities and compilation of all required supporting evidence and documentation.
Undertake preparation of project cost time resource (CTR) estimates and ensure Project activities are delivered in line with agreed CTR targets.
Participate in the collection, collation and communication of technical lessons learned, as well as feedback from offshore crews and Client personnel.
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, Company QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
Review deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Undertake rotation for out of hours personnel logistics support.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Experience of working in a similar Project Engineering role is essential.
An Engineering qualification would be advantageous.
The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly.
Project management skills.
Willingness to travel to offsite meetings when required.
Ability to work on their own or as part of a team.
Ability to work to deadlines on fast moving projects.
