About the role:
Network Rail Consulting is currently hiring for a Project Engineer with Cyber Security experience to join the Digital Systems Program (DSP) with our client, Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). Since 2018, we have been a key partner to TfNSW, bringing together technical and operational functions to deliver a ETCS L2 railway with Traffic Management Systems (TMS) for TfNSW's heavy rail network.
In this role, you will lead the development and management of Cyber Security for TfNSW’s Digital Systems Program. You will create and manage the Cyber Security Management Plan and lead Cyber Security risk assessment for the Digital Systems Program, ensuring compliance with national and international standards and embrace international best practice.
What you will be involved in:
- Be responsible for creation and updating the Cyber Security Management Plan and any other Cyber Security documentation in line with program timescales and quality requirements.
- Lead the interface with TfNSW and Sydney Trains on Cyber Security.
- Work with the TMS Data Lead Integrator to deliver a Cyber Security framework that integrates with Sydney Trains many platforms and data streams.
- Lead the management and programming of penetration testing as part of the system integration testing works.
- Deliver support, expertise, and advice on Cyber Security to the wider System Integrator when developing and managing requirements.
- Manage the review and assurance process of Cyber Security documentation provided by NRC’s International Cyber Security experts including adherence to program timescales.
- Ensure all deliverables are created in line with the approved evidence-based framework, through selective sampling and auditing.
Experience & Qualifications:
Essential
- Degree qualified systems engineer or equivalent demonstrable experience with a minimum of 5 years in system Cyber Security within the rail industry.
- A track record in rail programs and delivering projects to budget and on time.
- Ability to promptly investigate safety related issues and recommend the implementation of corrective actions.
- Strong attention to detail and highly developed report writing ability.
- Ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively among competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to listen and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and accurately capture, interpret, and implement agreed changes as required.
Desirable
- Experience in the implementation of modern signalling systems CBTC, ETCS.
- Experience during the development and entry into service phase of new rail infrastructure.
- Affiliation with recognised professional body.
