About the roleWe are recruiting for a Project Engineer to work on a permanent basis from our office in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for proactively managing all engineering aspects of a project. This role will suit Engineers who are natural problem solvers and take a methodical and thorough approach to work whilst generating and checking documentation.As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the following: Work closely and collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure project objectives are being met. Communicate engineering updates regularly and effectively with all stakeholders. Collaborate with key stakeholders to create more efficient methods and maintain profitability in Project Delivery. Where appropriate, assist in the preparation of project proposals, timeframes, schedules, and budgets. This includes preparation of reports as needed to support Department metrics, goals, or processes Proactively identify and manage projects risks. Monitor and track obsolescence issues and own obsolescence management activities Monitor and track Technical Queries and own Technical Query management process Manages technical databases Supports the management of the Quality Supplier Management System Ensure Engineering Change Control process is being followed within the team. Ensures compliance with relevant defence and industry standards Liaise with customers to identify new project opportunities.Write technical specifications that accurately capture new project requirements. Advise and recommend future technical and/or operational direction and process improvements as related to this function. Supervision of trainees and mentorship and support to junior engineers in the team as required. Senior level input to relevant engineering processes and procedures What do you need?Essential Previous experience in Defence project delivery Naval system design and/or operation UK Government Security Clearence (current holder would be advantageous) Sound knowledge of general engineering principles Experienced working in teams of varied disciplines Fully familiar with Microsoft Office suite Experience with PLM system for storage and control of engineering documentation Desirable Familiar with international UK Ministry of Defence quality standards Familiar with working to marine/defence standards and Classification Society rules (LR, DNV, DEFSTAN etc.) Experience of commercially sensitive projects and the security aspects this entails Working for usWe offer a number of benefits including Group Personal Pension Scheme, Life Assurance, half-day Fridays, private medical insurance and free parking on site.
