Project Engineer, Long Term Contract Opportunities

We are looking to speak with multi-disciplined engineers with recent commissioning experience, regarding various long term contract opportunities as Project Engineer with a major client in the Nuclear industry.

The initial duration of the assignment is 1 year with potential for extension, offering long term job security.

As Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

• Identifying project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project.
• To manage engineering support to the project
• To contribute to production of Project Execution Plans including design, safety case and commissioning strategies
• Developing concept design and fit for purpose engineering solution for projects
• Producing and/or approve project technical specifications
• Managing detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards
• Carrying out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments
• To provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent
• To specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning

Skills and experience needed:

• Good knowledge of Electrical Standards, design, installation and commissioning of electrical systems
• Experience working in a highly regulated industry and a strong knowledge of engineering Standards and procedures used in regulated industries. Nuclear experience preferred but any Safe System Of Work experience from a highly regulated industry will be considered
• Competent in fault finding and working with designers to design, plan, execute and test solutions
• Working knowledge of CDM
• Recent Commissioning experience

Qualification: Preferably BSc in Electrical Engineering (will consider HND or HNC)
