Project Engineer

Key responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing and developing robust Business Cases for the justification of Capital Expenditure projects.
- Engineering and management of Capital Projects through front end design, procurement, installation and commissioning of site infrastructure and process equipment to agreed specifications, ensuring that key stakeholders are consulted at each stage of the project lifecycle.
- Undertake and manage key aspects of project work such as: managing budget, schedule, scope and risk; participate and undertake design reviews; creation of documentation and management of data; etc.
- Collaboration with Operations, Process, Technical and Safety specialists the completion of User Requirement Specifications (URS), CAPEX requests, Hazard Study Documentation, MOC and Risk Assessments as required.
- Consider design for manufacture, process flow (factory layout) and sustainability principles when providing key inputs for the successful purchase of new process and service equipment.
- Leveraging outside partners and suppliers for solution development and design including the sourcing, recommendation, and selection of equipment suppliers (vendor bid analysis).
- Manage and control the safe installation of equipment on site including the supervision and safe management of on-site contractors.
- Support trouble-shooting during installation and start-up, ensuring a smooth hand over to operations.
- Proactively promote a positive Health and Safety culture and ensure adherence to JM policies, including HR, EHS and Security.
- Plan and prioritize own work to ensure delivery of key objectives
- Issuing and managing permits to work as well as reviewing and creating/reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Highlight risks inherent in plant mods and coordinate/participate in hazardous operation studies.
- Ensure engineering design drawings and documentation is updated as required.
- Supporting engineering department goals and objectives.
- All other duties that may be assigned by the Senior Engineer
Main Skills and experience required-
Experience in multitasking a number of projects
Minimum 5 years experience
Experience and knowledge in a chemical/production/manufacturing industry
Experience in process engineering
Desireable - Engineering based Degree level
Detailed knowledge of MOC
