The successful candidate will provide a Project Engineering function in relation to the introduction of new Infrastructure across Track Plant and Engineering Plant. This includes providing project updates, vehicle build, quality audits and factory acceptance tests at supplier premises, manage the testing and commissioning of new Rail Infrastructure Plant and management of on site contractors in relation to any plant specific projects.
Suitable candidates will need at least HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering as well as experience gained in the Rail/ Bus or Industrial Plant Engineering sector.
The Role
- Project engineering support on introduction of new infrastructure on track plant and engineering plant
- Provide a Project Engineering function to the Project Manager and wider Project Team.
- Support Project Managers by providing regular reports and updates in line with PMO procedures.
- Management of contractors on site ensuring compliance with all H&S and Track Safety rules.
- Inspect and test vehicle and plant during build/construction, on delivery and post-commissioning.
- Prepare reports to suppliers and end-users.
- Assist Project Manager with vehicle commissioning process.
- Monitor vehicle/plant and sub-system performance post commissioning and analyse results.
- Assist in planning, implementation and reporting on other projects as required.
- Manage smaller scale projects as directed by Programme & Project Manager.
- Work with a range of internal and external stakeholders
What we are looking for
- Experience gained in the Rail/ Bus or Heavy Plant Engineering sector
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering
- Experience in project management
- Experience with Autocad or similar design packages
- Strong technical knowledge and report writing skills
- Flexible to travel across company sites and supplier sites
