Job description

Oversight and co-ordination of the Breast Pathway projects including: Development of a delivery plan for the implementation of pathway coordinators in the breast team Develop a robust, regional audit tool for the review and appraisal of the Breast Pathway, in alignment with the clinical leads for breast cancer at the Christie Maintaining knowledge of local, regional and national projects associated with the regional breast recovery programme. Line management of appointed pathway coordinators members. Improvements to interlinked breast oncology pathways as the project progresse Project management and day to day running of the Breast Pathway coordinator project in conjunction with the relevant service manager, clinical leads and Greater Manchester Cancer pathway manager for breast. Identifying and managing the risks associated with each project Identifying resources to enable project delivery and assuring delivery on schedule Demonstrates the agreed Christie set of values and accountable for own attitude and behaviour. The appointee should be courageous and try new ideas, whilst maintaining honesty and taking responsibility in their day-to-day work. They should be able to celebrate success and show appreciation for work undertaken by others in the team and they should have an inclusive approach to teamwork and engagement of all stakeholders within the scope of the project. Leadership and expertise Deliver strong professional leadership with the highest level of interpersonal and communication skills to enable and empower staff to develop best practice in the delivery of high quality patient care Act as a subject matter expert for the scope of the project Exert influence upon senior clinical and managerial colleagues to ensure that project objectives remain a priority in their work programmes Remain up-to-date with developments and disseminate these developments to the appropriate stakeholders Communication and support To be the first point of contact for clinical leads when seeking managerial, operational or clinical advice or support during the implementation of the pathway coordinator pathway Lead the development of innovative proposals for pathway change and improvement. Challenge Clinical Leads and the service manager if wider input required. Regularly update network services senior management team with project developments and identify where support or challenge is needed Data and information Research background data and literature from relevant national and international sources Collate data and literature into concise reports and tools and present to stakeholders making clear recommendations for action in line with both Network services management and Novartis project implementation documentation. Analyse cancer data and intelligence to identify trends, key messages and opportunities to improve patient outcomes and experience through this project. Planning and reporting Develop and manage a work programme with the Clinical Leads and Service Manager ensuring that this contains clear objectives, tasks and identified leads. Ensure that the work plan reflects, and contributes towards the achievement of, the wider goals and objectives of improved clinical care and patient experience. Lead the definition of outcome measures that can be monitored during the course of the programme. Track progress against these outcome measures and provide progress reports to Clinical leads, Service management and Novartis where requested. Actively contribute to any provider service reviews as required.
