Being supported by one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing, we have locations in Ansty Park in Coventry, Liverpool and Oxford.
The role
As a Project Management Degree Apprentice, you will follow a 4-year scheme delivered over 8 work placements. You will report to a project manager or programme manager within the Programme Management team.
You will learn how to deliver day-to-day Project Management tasks successfully following the Project Management process and standard working practises within the Project Management Team and Project Management Office. This will include communication, budgeting/cost control, management of stakeholders, schedule, risk and project governance.
You will be given both on-the-job training and off-the-job training.
On-the-job training and assessment will be provided by a mixture of:
- Workplace shadowing
- Mentoring
- Periodic In-house Training from internal or external resource
- Self-learning modules and assessments e.g., Health & safety tests
Off-the-job training will be provided by Better Futures Apprenticeships (part of the Coventry University Group) in forms of lectures, webinars, online tutorials, support surgeries, library access, reading material
Working hours: 36 Hours per week (study hours 9, working hours 27 based on fully flexible working week) (Fully Flexible Working Week and Hybrid working options available)
Salary: £23,000 per annum

You will achieve a BSc (Hons) Project Manager degree, issued by Coventry University.
Main Responsibilities:
- Share project information with stakeholders
- Develop and maintain project deliverables under the direction of Programme and Project Managers to secure and measure progress
- Collect and input data into project trackers and databases
- Attend and present at Project Review Meetings
- Project cost analysis, monitoring cost and assessing earned value
- Assist in the preparation of Project Management Reports for the Senior Management Team
- Assist in Work Package Management processes
- Work towards APM Membership status
- Work towards completion of BSc (Hons) Project Management degree
What we are looking for
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- GCSE/Level 2: Grade C/Level 5 or above in Maths and English.
- A Levels/Level 3: Grade BBC or BTEC: Grades DMM or L3 Business Administration apprenticeship (Minimum 112 UCAS Points)
- Ability to deliver both internally at work but also externally through achievement of a degree
- A logical thinker with attention to detail, and excellent problem solving ability
- Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are delivered successfully
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organised, disciplined, methodical, hardworking and a team player
- A keen interest in technology
- Able to use MS Word, Excel and Office applications
Interview Process
When you submit your application, it will be passed on to our Talent Acquisition team for review. If you meet our entry requirements, you will be asked to complete several assessments including x2 psychometric assessments (completed online) and a virtual video interview. The final stage of our selection process involves our top performers to attend a face-to-face assessment centre at our site in Ansty Park, Coventry.
It is currently anticipated that the assessment centre day will take place at the end of July 2024. Accommodation and travel expenses for the assessment centre will be covered by the MTC where appropriate.
Reference and Security Checks
All employment offers will be subject to us obtaining satisfactory employment references. As part of your role, you will be required to undergo a BPSS Check.
