Job description

The Role

We're looking for an insightful, emotionally intelligent and proactive Project Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Chief Project Officer, you'll play a vital role in driving our projects forward, working closely with colleagues, clients, and partners to seamlessly guide them from concept to delivery.

Your ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships, understand diverse perspectives, and adapt your communication and delivery style will be key to your success.

Positivity, resilience, and the ability to adapt to project requirements is essential, as here at Vindico meaningful and valuable engagement, both internal and external, is everyone’s business and expected as a baseline.

There is no ‘typical day’, but as a Project Manager within the Vindico community you’ll likely be found attending pod or project stand ups, catching up with colleagues and clients to maintain an understanding of project requirements, prioritising and allocating work/tasks alongside the developer community, and as PMs do (the good ones anyway) be found scribbling away on a notebook or FigJam to identify improvements and efficiencies!

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership and Management: Oversee and coordinate the planning, execution, and successful closure of multiple software development projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Agile Guidance: Champion appropriate agile methodologies to foster adaptability, collaboration, and efficiency in our teams. Working with colleagues to enable an approach that augments and compliments the company culture for optimal project and portfolio delivery.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain excellent relationships across a wide range of stakeholders, including software developers, designers, product managers, clients, and senior management.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication channels, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks or obstacles (both internal and external). Deliver clear and concise project reports and briefings to keep everyone informed.
  • Motivation: Inspire and motivate project teams, recognising individual and collective strengths, empathising with limitations or issues faced, and fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Risk Management: Implement risk and issue management processes, and engage appropriate stakeholders to ensure effective ownership and action as required.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, co-develop and implement processes or tools to optimise project efficiency, and contribute to company-wide knowledge sharing.

Essential Criteria

  • Project/Portfolio Management and Delivery: Experience in, and evidence of, successfully managing projects or programmes; inclusive of budgets, schedules and resources.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience of managing multi-layered internal and external stakeholders networks.
  • Software Tools: Proficiency in, and experience of using, a recognised PM software platform i.e. Shortcut, Float.
  • Methodology: Good understanding of project management methodologies, governance procedures with demonstrable experience of having effectively applied agile and/or waterfall project management principles successfully within a working environment.
  • Risk Management: Experience of implementing risk and issue management processes successfully.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with demonstrated empathy, influence, and the ability to build trust across various teams, stakeholders and personalities.
  • Conflict Resolution: Proven ability to resolve challenges with diplomacy and find collaborative solutions that keep projects progressing.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, able to manage shifting priorities and navigate ambiguity with flexibility and resilience.
  • Organisational Excellence: Meticulous attention to detail balanced with delivering well-organised projects and adhering to deadlines.
  • Lifelong Learner: Enthusiasm for ongoing development in project management methodologies and software development trends.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within a software development company or a technology-focused environment.
  • Project management certification (APM, PMP, PRINCE2, or similar).
  • Change Management Qualification (APMG or similar).
  • Understanding of software development concepts.
  • Experience in working with Shortcut and Google Workspace.
  • UK Driving Licence.
