Job description
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Project Manager for an initial 4 month contract on a rate of £450/day – 37 hours per week (inside of IR35). This role will be a combination of working remotely and in Edinburgh.
Responsibilities:
- Assuming responsibility and authority for delivery of high profile and business critical projects within the ARE Directorate to time, quality and within budget. 45%?
- Developing and delivering project plans and managing risks and issues. 20%?
- Managing delivery in line with project plans and reporting on progress and exceptions to the Portfolio Management Office, SROs and ARE Boards as required. 5%??
- Identifying and managing dependencies.? 5%?
- Identifying, engaging with, informing and influencing stakeholders, including staff, to ensure their commitment to successful delivery of projects. 10%?
- Working closely with ARE colleagues in reporting, supporting and supplying advice and updates to the Project Board/Portfolio Management office, Senior Officials and Ministers on the progress of your projects and workstreams. 5%?
- Leading and facilitating a range of working groups formed to assist with the delivery of projects. 10%
Essential Skills:
- Experience in Managing Delivery of projects or work streams – including the ability to manage people through significant change
- Excellent communication – written, oral and presentational skills. Ability to present to senior management
- Effective team leadership skills, with the ability to manage conflict well
- PRINCE2/Prince2Agile Practitioner certification?
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of producing formal papers and reports
- Knowledge and experience working with corporate IT applications including Microsoft Project, Visio and Excel
