Project Manager
Exeter, England (This position is remote, 2 days on site per month)
300 - 350 per day PAYE.

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Project Manager to join our team on an interim basis.
This role required a full SC Security Clearance.
The Role:
- A vacancy for a senior Project Manager has become available within the Defence Capability Programme (DCP) within the Products and Services Sub-Portfolio, which is responsible for delivering a significant number of Programmes and Projects for the Met Office.
- The DCP manages the evolution and lifecycle of a range of products and services that support Defence users, both in the UK and Internationally. Delivery requires a varied programme of Science & Technology projects and activities. The role will work alongside a team of experienced project and delivery managers as well of a broad range of other specialists (e.g. Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, etc.) as part of a large multi-disciplined team. Delivery is predominately agile (Scrum or Kanban), but with some aspects of classic waterfall (tailored PRINCE2), as necessary within a Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) framework
- DCP has a number of projects delivering the Scientific and technology capability that underpins a variety of data and application products. It is likely that this role will manage a key project delivering an end-user visualisation tool update, as well supporting the initialisation of a new Science project
The Candidate:
- SC Security Clearance.
- We're looking for people with the experience to deliver projects on time and on budget without compromising on quality.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, along with practical knowledge of agile 'at scale'. Qualifications in agile and an understanding of working in a large-scale programme environment would be advantageous, as would any previous experience of working in the Defence Sector.
- Demonstrable track record in delivering projects successfully, using multi-modal means (e.g. agile and waterfall); ideally holds PMQ, Prince(2) and / or Prince (Agile) qualifications.
- Demonstrable Agile 'at scale' experience
- Experience of working in large scale programmes with multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience relevant to delivery of complex IT projects including through use of Cloud technology environments.
