Job Outline:
Now is an exciting time to join a leading developer of photonic and optic products in Southampton.
Joining the Senior Delivery Team, you will manage research and development projects, improvement projects and commercial contracts.
Working in an applied production/research environment producing products for commercial sales, the primary responsibility of the role is to ensure efficient delivery of projects to committed timescales and budgets. Some general administration will be required as part of the role.
Managing internal projects, you will work closely with colleagues and partners to ensure delivery of the complex scientific projects for both new product development and improvement of existing processes and practices.
As Project Manager your responsibilities will include ensuring Project milestones are met; preparing and submitting funding claims to customers and funding bodies; and preparing and presenting reports / updates for Performance reviews.
You will ensure the Senior team, CEO, COO, Chief Engineer, & CTO are kept up to date on Project progress, including any risks, non-conformance etc.
This varied role will suit an experienced Project Manager who is comfortable managing concurrent projects with budgets in the region of £200k to £1m.
Experience:
As the successful Project Manager, you will have previously managed Scientific Projects, working through the full life cycle from initial concept and biding to completion.
You will be comfortable managing stakeholders across multiple functional areas, within a range of commercial, academic and research organizations.
Qualifications:
Ideally you will have a Professional Project Management Qualification such as APM or PRINCE 2.
Additional Information:
Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK, without requiring sponsorship. Copies of Visa and Passport will be requested for verification.
Candidates MUST hold a full clean Driving Licence, and be willing to travel to stakeholder sites, UK and world wide.
