We are looking for a Project Manager to work within a multi-billion pound revenue business with a view to becoming the largest business to business energy supplier in the UK. It is initially a three-month contract with potential to be extended. The role is Hybrid, with one day a week being based in the Solihull office. It is a full-time role, 40 hours per week.
The postholder will be a practicing project professional who will assist in early identification, scoping and mobilisation of change. They will co-ordinate and drive through the delivery of change from idea generation through to successful handover of benefits realisation.
Accountabilities
- Driving allocated I&C Change projects through to implementation, delivering to high quality standards within the agreed governance framework incorporating one or more time/cost/quality levers as appropriate. Manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies escalating appropriately to minimise impact at all times. Responsible for the set-up, management and delivery of the project and for overseeing activities on a day-to-day basis
- Achieves adherence to minimum governance standards throughout delivery.
- Develops and maintains project plans and schedules including formal initiation and closure of the assigned project. Planning assumptions are documented, stages of readiness as the project progresses are clear and communicated.
- Define and agree budget, gain budget approval via company procedures, forecast, track and report costs and benefits to ensure delivery to approved budget, and clear visibility of forecast benefits. Formulate and seek approval for changes to the baseline when appropriate.
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Expert knowledge of systems, process, people relationships, solution architecture, process hierarchy, service providers and governance frameworks
- Experience of Driving Performance through leadership, empowerment and personal development in a complex and challenging environment
- Ability to influence key stakeholders at discretionary levels across and throughout the organisation.
- Must be able to assimilate information, understand, navigate and assess complex data, systems & processes
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience of project planning and management, and strategic change planning and monitoring, across multi delivery methodologies
- Sound financial knowledge, coupled with experience of budget formulation, management and control supported by sound analytical skills, capable of clearly identifying and solving problems proactively
- Industry knowledge and experience or understanding of the structure and organisation of utilities and their core activities.
