Overview:
The IT Project Manager Apprentice at WaterAid is to actively contribute to the successful delivery of projects by supporting the IT Operations and Programme Management team. Through collaborative efforts, the apprentice will assist in project planning, requirements gathering, resource allocation, and risk management while maintaining accurate project documentation.
By working closely with various stakeholders and embracing agile methodology principles, the apprentice will help overcome challenges, ensure efficient project implementation, and ultimately contribute to the WaterAid’s mission of making a positive impact on communities worldwide.
Salary:
£22,122 per annum.
Duties:
The Project Manager Apprentice will:
- Collaborate with the IT Operations Engineers and Programme Management team to support the successful delivery of IT projects. Assist in project planning, requirements gathering, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and project-related documentation as required.
- Act as a liaison between different stakeholders involved in IT projects, facilitating effective communication and coordination to ensure project goals are met.
- Assist in identifying and resolving project-related issues and challenges, employing critical thinking and analytical skills to find innovative solutions.
- Embrace and learn from the organisation's agile methodology principles, focusing on continuous improvement and maximizing efficiency in project delivery.
- Gain exposure to various IT systems and technologies used within the organisation, understanding their roles in project implementation.
- Participate actively in training sessions and workshops, developing project management skills and IT knowledge to support personal and professional growth.
- Ensure that projects adhere to established quality standards and best practices, contributing to the overall success of the IT team's efforts.
- Display flexibility in taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as required, assisting in various IT initiatives to meet WaterAid's objectives.
- Be expected to undertake and successfully progress through the BSC (Hons) Project Management degree course. 20% off the job study time will be allocated accordingly to enable the study element to take place.

- Sound working knowledge of MS software (i.e. Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and proficient general IT ability.

Desirable skills:
- Basic understanding of IT concepts, systems, and technologies.
- Familiarity with agile methodology or project management principles
Entry requirements:
- 120 UCAS Tariff points
- English Language GCSE at Grade C (4+)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
