Job Opportunity: Fire Project Manager
Are you an experienced Project Manager seeking an exciting opportunity to lead and deliver strategic, multi-disciplinary capital project works? We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our dedicated Capital Works Projects team within Property Management. This role offers a chance to contribute to the enhancement of the Camden property portfolio while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and maintaining a client-focused approach.
Role Overview: As a Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Programme Manager to deliver capital works projects with values ranging from £4m to £10m annually. Your responsibilities will include project planning, team management, stakeholder engagement, compliance with health and safety regulations, and seamless handover to clients and internal asset management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, allocate, obtain, organize, and review project costs, ensuring seamless project delivery operations.
- Organize and motivate project teams, building strong professional relationships with management and clients.
- Manage project delivery business, including coordination with support services and maintaining budget adherence.
- Vet and manage the supply chain and direct labor force, ensuring the required volume of work is delivered within budget.
- Compile monthly reports, present findings at management meetings, and administer contract performance measures.
- Review and improve project and safety performance, managing risks for year-on-year predictability.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, Council policies, and statutory approvals.
- Engage residents and stakeholders throughout the works lifecycle, managing consultation processes.
- Attend evening and occasional weekend meetings and events.
People Management: Collaborate with consultant employers' agents and project personnel.
Relationships: Work closely with councillors, residents, school head teachers, building managers, and senior management within the Council.
Work Environment: Operate from various Council offices and routinely visit construction sites. Attendance at evening meetings and inspections may be required.
Technical Knowledge and Experience:Essential:
- Significant experience in construction project management or project delivery.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, compliance, and implementation of CDM regulations.
- Experience in leaseholder management, consultation, and service charge arrangements.
- Familiarity with procurement processes related to construction activities.
- Commitment to service excellence and a track record in positive resident engagement.
- PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable:
- Membership of professional bodies such as RICS, CIOB, APM, or NEBOSH construction certificate.
