About Us:
The Defence Capability Programme (DCP) within the Products and Services Sub-Portfolio is seeking a skilled Senior Project Manager to join a government team. The DCP manages the evolution and lifecycle of various products and services supporting Defence users globally. We are seeking someone to be able to work in a dynamic environment, delivering Science & Technology projects and activities primarily through agile methodologies, while also incorporating elements of classic waterfall as necessary within an MSP framework.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering key projects within our portfolio, including the update of end-user visualisation tools and the initiation of new Science projects. You will work closely with experienced project and delivery managers as part of a large multi-disciplinary team, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Essential Criteria:
- Proven track record in successfully delivering projects using both agile and waterfall methodologies, ideally holding PMQ, Prince2, and/or Prince (Agile) qualifications.
- Demonstrable experience in Agile 'at scale'.
- Experience working in large-scale programmes with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels, including third parties such as suppliers or Public Sector Bodies.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in the Defence Sector.
- Experience in delivering complex IT projects, including through the use of Cloud technology environments.
