The Civils and Infrastructure division at Ford and Stanley are proud to be working with a reputable engineering specialist, who are seeking a Project Manager to oversee the completion of tailored engineering projects. Many of these tailored engineering solutions such as electric control units, heating control units, switches (and more) are designed for rail customers, to ensure safety and efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the completion of projects under timescales and budget parameters as well as managing key variations in solutions.
The candidate will also work closely with internal teams including procurement, commercial and more. Alongside this, the Project Manager will be liaising with customers directly in relation to project specifications.
- Budgeting
- Planning / Scheduling
- Engaging with stakeholders both internally and externally
- Understanding, articulating and selling propositions with customers.
Opportunity:
The majority of the solutions our client design are targeted to rail customers, as such gives the Project Manager the opportunity to work with organisations such as Network Rail and firmly get their foot into the rail sector.
This role also offers the candidate a unique opportunity to work with a novel business that is backed by a multimillion pound wider group who possess a large black book of contacts and resources. The candidate will also be given autonomy where they can steer the direction of these projects how they see fit.
Our client and the wider group they are a part of are known for their employee engagement via their 'Investors in People" accreditation. Furthermore, the Project Manager will have the benefit of potentially pivoting not only within the organisation but within the wider group.
Ideal Candidate:
- Essential: Experience as Project Manager within infrastructure/engineering/construction/rail
- Essential: Experience effectively engaging with stakeholders and managing their expectations
- Essential: Qualified in Project Management – APM, APM Q, PRINCE 2 etc
- Essential: A proactive approach to Project Management including emphasis on planning, coordinating and tailoring projects to client demands/needs
